Blackboard uses the Content System to store all uploaded files in a "course files area."; This now makes it easy to bulk upload files and to deploy multiple files in courses. ; ;Note: Once you have uploaded a file it is possible to deploy as many links as you wish to the same documents.
Navigate to Course Files Area:
From within the control panel, select the Content Collection option:
Select the area that you wish to upload your content to:
If you would like to create a folder, then you will need to click the Create Folder option, give it a name and click on Submit.
Uploading the Files:
It is possible to upload single files and multiple files. ;The upload option defaults to Single File. ;If you wish to upload multiple files, then select the Multiple Files option from just underneath the Edit mode:
providing you have the Multiple files option selected (click it if not, blackboard should remember your preference) a box should open into which you can simply drag and drop single or multiple files into your folder - if you don't see this box or if you prefer to browse to files then click the browse button instead.; You can then select multiple files in the normal way.
SUBMITTING THE FILES
The list of files should appear in the box and you need to click submit to upload them
You will see progress bars as the files upload and hopefully a green success bar - that is the end of the upload process
TO DEPLOY SINGLE OR MULTIPLE FILES FROM THE COURSE FILES AREA
You need to use the ITEM entry from the Build Content menu in any content area in your course (if you use the "File" option you will not be able to choose multiple files.; Fill in the title and and any notes on the form then go to Section 2 of the form and click on the Browse Content Collection button
DRAG OR BROWSE TO FILES TO SELECT THEM
This will take you to the course files area where you can browse for the files you want to add and then put a tick against each file you want to upload (it does help if your files are named in an informative way for students) - then Click Submit
You are then taken back to the ADD ITEM form where you can add more files and add any settings such as tracking etc before clicking Submit to send the item to your course
WHAT THE STUDENT SEES
The student will see a set of links to the files along with any description you added to the form
NB; There are other options such as creating a web folder on your desktop so that you can drag files directly into a course folder without even opening Blackboard.; Also if you click on the Down chevrons on the Content Collection link in control panel you will find various other options including the abitlity to share content from another course on which you are an instructor without having to upload the documents again
